10,000 Steps a Day in January
We are challenging you to take 10,000 steps every day in January. Where and how you chose to walk each day is up to you!
The Chiltern 50 Challenge is a looped route covering some of the best of the Chilterns countryside. Walk, jog, or run over rolling hills, along historic trails, and through nature reserves and forests – it’s a route with real variety and some wonderful scenery. With 50km, 25km & 10km options, there’s a Chiltern Challenge for everyone!
The event, which is easily accessible from London, starts and finishes at basecamp at Henley Showground. There’s a Saturday night celebration barbecue and entertainment, plus optional camping packages.
Your entry includes free food and drink at regular rest stops, plus support including medics, marshals and massage. As you cross the finish line, you’ll receive a glass of fizz, t-shirt, and medal to commemorate your achievement.
As Dementia UK is an official charity partner of this event, you will receive a 50% discount on the ‘full sponsorship’ registration fee when signing up to support families affected by dementia.
Head to the Dementia UK Ultra Challenge page to find out full details of prices and to sign up.

Gary and his team who took on a trek for Dementia UK:My father passed away in January 2021 having suffered with dementia for a few years. We collected money for Dementia UK in lieu of flowers at the funeral, I thought it would be a good opportunity therefore to add to the money we had already collected by walking for Dementia UK.
