Admiral Nurse Academy

Dementia UK provides support for on-going professional and practice development for Admiral Nurses in maintaining knowledge, skill and competencies as specialists in dementia care.

This is supported by an experienced Admiral Nurse Academy team. There are a range of activities as part of the Admiral Nurse Academy, including an induction programme, practice action learning sets (clinical supervision), practice development opportunities, and access to online learning.

Pre Admiral Nurse elearning module

The elearning module is designed for Registered Nurses who wish to find out more about the role of an Admiral Nurse and are considering a career in Admiral Nursing. The course is also useful to health and social care professionals who wish to find out more about the complexities of supporting families living with dementia. The course is divided into six sections, each section will take approximately 1.5 hours to complete
