A guide to fundraising

Thank you so much for beginning your fundraising journey for Dementia UK. We’re here to help you achieve your fundraising goals so that you can make a real difference for families facing dementia.

Let’s get started

1. Choose your fundraising idea

Think about your hobbies and what you enjoy doing. Why not chat to your family, friends and colleagues to see if they would be happy to get involved too? Find inspiration from our fundraising ideas and start planning your event.

2. Set up your JustGiving page

The easiest way to start fundraising is to set up an online JustGiving page. You can personalise your page to explain why you’re fundraising for families facing dementia, easily share it with everyone you know, and keep track of your donations.  See our tips on making the most of your online fundraising page.

The impact of your fundraising

Every penny donated to your fundraiser will make a huge difference to families facing dementia. Each donation, no matter how big or small, will help you reach your target. See the impact that your fundraising target could make:
  • £ 250

could fund a new Admiral Nurse

to run a full day of face-to-face appointments for families affected by young onset dementia (where symptoms develop under the age of 65).

  • £ 557

could pay for two Admiral Nurses

to answer calls on our Helpline on a Sunday, when other dementia services are closed.

  • £ 1251

could fund a new Admiral Nurse

for a whole week to support a community where people are struggling to access an local dementia services.
