If you are living with dementia or caring for someone with the diagnosis, you can book a phone or video appointment with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse who can offer advice and support with any aspect of dementia. Appointments are free, confidential and available between 11am and 2pm every Tuesday and Thursday.
How an Admiral Nurse can help
Admiral Nurses are experts in dementia who are there for the whole family. They offer information, advice and support with any questions and concerns about dementia, including:
- understanding the diagnosis
- practical tips and advice for caring for a person with dementia
- understanding symptoms and changes in behaviour
- stays in hospital
- transition into a nursing or residential home
- managing your own feelings

‘Dementia: what next?’ online series
If you are living with dementia or caring for someone with the condition, you can register for our free online sessions, ‘Dementia: what next?’. The three sessions take place on Zoom and cover:
- What is dementia?
- Financial and legal advice
- Planning for the future

If you are looking for support right now, you can contact our free Admiral Nurse Dementia Helpline on 0800 888 6678 (Monday-Friday 9am-9pm; Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays 9am-5pm except 25th December) or email helpline@dementiauk.org
As well as offering support with anything related to dementia, the Helpline nurses will also be able to advise whether there is an Admiral Nurse service that you can access in your area.
