Volunteer for us
We are recruiting for Volunteer Ambassadors across the country and would love you to join us!
We need passionate individuals who are committed to supporting Dementia UK in achieving our aims. By raising awareness of Admiral Nurses and working with the community fundraising team our Volunteer Ambassadors enable us to reach out to individuals who may need the support of an Admiral Nurse and develop new fundraising opportunities.
If you are interested in joining a dedicated team of Volunteer Ambassadors and would like to find out more please download the Role description and Person Specification and then complete the application form.
If you have any questions, or would like any more information, please do get in touch.
Thank you for your interest in being a Dementia UK Volunteer Ambassador.
Val is a dedicated Volunteer Ambassador in Dorset who has helped us to secure many fundraising opportunities and spread the word about Admiral Nurses. Val tells us why she became a Volunteer Ambassador and how she has found the experience so far.
Having looked after my mother for 14 years with vascular dementia when she died, I felt a huge gap in my life and decided the best way to fill that gap was to become a Volunteer Ambassador for Dementia UK. As a Volunteer Ambassador I feel very much part of the team. I have lovely regular chats with my mentor, and through other things I have done, such as telephone interviews, cheque presentations, attending an amazing tea party at the House of Lords, I have had the opportunity to meet many more of the Dementia UK team. What an inspirational group they are. I am so pleased and very proud to be helping them in my very small way. Being a Volunteer Ambassador for Dementia UK has certainly filled the gap left by my late mother, and has certainly given me the inspiration and enthusiasm to achieve so much more in the years ahead.”
