Walk, jog or run the Lake District Challenge and soak up England’s finest countryside at your pace. Choose your distance – the full challenge Kendal Loop; a half challenge, quarter challenge or 10km route; or our new Lake District Marathon distance. Test yourself on a fantastic Ultra Challenge – suitable for all experience levels – and you’ll get the best support and hospitality all the way.

Our challenge base camp is in Kendal. From there, the full challenge covers a loop taking in some tough hills to Ambleside, a half way stop by Lake Windermere, forests, and nature reserves, with some stunning views en route. A huge welcome and celebration awaits you back at base camp after a momentous journey. Push yourself further in the stunning Lake District and support families facing dementia.

Your entry includes free food and drink at regular rest stops, plus support including medics, marshals and massage. As you cross the finish line, you’ll receive a glass of fizz, finisher’s t-shirt, and a medal to commemorate your achievement.

As Dementia UK is an official partner of this event, you will receive a 50% discount on the ‘full sponsorship’ registration fee when signing up to support families affected by dementia.

Head to the Dementia UK Ultra Challenge page to find out full details of prices and to sign up.

My father passed away in January 2021 having suffered with dementia for a few years. We collected money for Dementia UK in lieu of flowers at the funeral, I thought it would be a good opportunity therefore to add to the money we had already collected by walking for Dementia UK.
