Challenge yourself

Looking for a challenge to try at home? We have a range of different fun ideas to keep you active while supporting Dementia UK

As we continue to stay at home, the vital work of Dementia UK supporting families facing dementia is needed now more than ever. You can help us to continue this by getting creative with your ideas, setting yourself an active challenge at home and fundraising for Dementia UK.

Pick from our suggested challenges or set your own challenge – either way we’d love to hear from you. Fill in the form below and someone from our friendly challenge events team will be in touch.

Star Jumpathon

Star jumping for Dementia UK

Sign up for a Star Jumpathon. Each week our super star dementia specialist nurses help at least 500 people who face dementia through our Helpline. Why not complete 500 star jumps at home in one week (or a time period set by you) and #DoItForDementiaNurses?

You can download our Star Jumpathon check list and send us a snapshot clip of you completing your 500 star jumps and we will send you a virtual medal to congratulate you on your achievement.

The Five Alive Squat challenge

Fundraiser squatting with dog

We challenge you to take on our Five Alive Squat challenge by doing five minutes of squats, five times a day for five days – can you feel the burn already?

Stride into action

Need help to keep up your daily steps? Challenge yourself to walk 10,000 steps every day for seven days, that’s 70,000 steps in a week! You can get creative with this challenge whether that’s climbing your stairs, walking around your dining table or marching up and down your garden.

Send us a photo of how you are getting your steps in, especially when you take that 69,999th one!

Muscles for memories

Many of us are now adapting our exercise to fit in with the new way of life. This means doing exercise classes online and motivating ourselves to work out in a different way.

Whatever you are choosing to do to stay fit, why not dedicate a session of your exercise to Dementia UK? It could be a HIIT class, yoga or a plank challenge. All we ask is you donate the cost of an exercise class to Dementia UK and send us a pic of you in action!

What do I do next?

Simply register your details using our #DoItForDementiaNurses form and select which challenge you’re ready to take on.

We’d love for you to donate a minimum of £5 towards your challenge as this could cover the call costs for two people phoning the Admiral Nurse Dementia Helpline – so that calls are always free.

And if you are able to, please share that you are taking on your challenge with family, friends and colleagues as they may be happy to also donate towards our vital services.

Once you have registered, our friendly fundraising team will be in touch to welcome you to #TeamDementiaUK.
