You can take part whenever and wherever you like, and getting started is easy!

  1. Sign up to take part
  2. Personalise your fundraising page and share it with friends and family.
  3. Complete the 10km trail over as many days as you like throughout December.

In the time it takes you to walk a kilometre, four people in the UK will develop dementia. That’s why we need you and your family to take on the Dementia UK Virtual Lapland Dash this December.

Follow our virtual 10k trail throughout the month, stopping along the way to collect festive surprises to take to Santa’s workshop. Every step will raise vital funds so our specialist dementia nurses can offer a lifeline to more families this Christmas and beyond.

When you sign up, an online fundraising page will automatically be created for you which is integrated with your map.

Registration costs just £5 and we’ll keep you updated with fundraising tips and support. When you reach £100 in donations, we’ll send you a Dementia UK t-shirt!

FAQs

When you register, you’ll be able to let us know what t-shirt size you’d like. When you reach £100 in donations, we’ll send it out to you!

If you’d like to purchase extra t-shirts, then you can do so from our shop.

Please allow up to two weeks for your t-shirt to arrive.

Your fundraising page will be automatically set up for you when you register. This is because the virtual map is integrated with your fundraising page – just remember to log your distance!

You can walk, run, swim, cycle, skate – you name it! You can integrate your Strava, so any activity automatically moves you along the map, or manually enter your activity.

We understand you might not be able to complete your challenge for any reason, and that’s fine. If you like, you can extend your challenge, so you have longer to complete it; otherwise just let your sponsors know that you’re not continuing with the challenge.

If you have any more questions about the Virtual Lapland Dash, please don’t hesitate to drop us an email at fundraising@dementiauk.org.

Mother and Daughter with a Christmas tree behind them

I’m taking on the Lapland Dash for Dementia UK as my grandparents had dementia. I signed up because we’re actually off to Lapland in a couple of weeks and I thought it would be exciting to do a real 'dash' involving my 9-year-old daughter too. We plan on skiing, husky sledging and searching for Santa to cover our distance.
