How we can support you
Whether you have a question that needs an immediate answer or need emotional support when life feels overwhelming, these are the ways our dementia specialist Admiral Nurses can support you.
Holding a funeral collection in memory of someone special is a lovely way to commemorate their life and support families affected by dementia.
If you are thinking of remembering a loved one by holding a collection at their funeral, we’ve got everything you need to make organising one as easy as possible.
Setting up an online collection page means you can create a personal tribute to your loved one while raising donations for families facing dementia. There are two different options for online collection pages:
A Remembrance Fund provides a space for families and friends to post thoughts and photos, share stories, as well as light virtual candles. You can share the page link with family and friends before and on the day of the service.
If you would like to collect donations at a funeral, we have collection envelopes available. You can order these by filling in our form.
In order for families to receive acknowledgement and thanks quickly, you can help us by paying donation collections in online, where possible.
If you are a Funeral Director wishing to pay in a collection on behalf of a family, please donate using our online form.
Any cheques should be made payable to ‘Dementia UK’, and sent to us at Dementia UK, 7th Floor, One Aldgate, London, EC3N 1RE. We will receive these cheques, but please do note there will be a delay in our ability to acknowledge them.
If you’ve collected cash, please don’t send it through the post. You can bank the cash and send us a cheque for the equivalent amount, or you can call our donations line (0300 365 5500) and make a donation over the phone.
We’d like to make sure that we acknowledge the donation correctly, so please include a note with the following information:
The death of someone close to us is one of the toughest things we’ll ever have to cope with. If you, or anyone you know, needs advice or support, please contact our free Dementia Helpline to speak to a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse. Call 0800 888 6678 (Monday-Friday 9am-9pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am-5pm, every day except 25th December) or email helpline@dementiauk.org. You can also book a phone or video appointment in our virtual Admiral Nurse clinics.
A funeral collection is a way for family and friends to donate to Dementia UK in memory of a loved one instead of, or in addition to, giving flowers. It allows people to support the charity’s work while remembering the life of the person who has died.
You can collect donations at the funeral service using collection envelopes and/or by setting up an online remembrance page to share with family and friends or by donating directly through our website.
Yes — we offer funeral collection envelopes that you can order so family and friends can donate at the service.

Any cheques should be made payable to Dementia UK and sent to us at Dementia UK, 7th Floor, One Aldgate, London EC3N 1RE.
