Running the Royal Parks Half Marathon for Grandad

Five cousins running a half marathon to raise money for for Dementia UK

A huge challenge…

We are a group of five cousins that are running the Royal Parks half marathon in aid of our amazing Grandad; the most incredible person that we know. He sadly suffered a stroke whilst in the gym 12 years ago and was subsequently diagnosed with vascular dementia a couple of years back.

He has dealt with everything in such a way that he makes life easier for us all but we know that every day is a challenge for him. We therefore decided to take on our own challenge to do all that we can to help our Grandad and anyone else who is living with dementia.

A half marathon is a HUGE challenge for us…. we can barely run round the block so we are training super hard. We are going to run together and cross the finish line as the team that we are. It’s going to be tough both physically and emotionally but we will do it as Grandad will be there to cheer us all on!
