Christmas activities for people living with dementia
Christmas activity ideas for a person with dementia for a fun and engaging time for all the family
Christmas has changed so much for Sarah and her family. She reflects on reaching crisis point when her husband, David, was diagnosed with young onset dementia and the support her family has since received from Dementia UK.
Last January, the phones didn’t stop. Our Helpline responded to over 4,000 calls and emails from people in desperate need of support.
When families are struggling to know where to turn, our specialist dementia nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, are here to offer advice, support and a listening ear. For many callers, the Helpline is their lifeline.
Sarah, Helpline caller“The dementia specialist Admiral Nurse on the Helpline was so understanding and kind. I felt safe opening up to her. She understood exactly what I was talking about.”
Last Christmas, generous supporters like you helped raise over £107,000 to provide a lifeline for people affected by dementia. Together, we grew the number of Admiral Nurses, giving more people access to life-changing dementia support when they needed it most.
This generosity meant that we were able to answer over 4,000 calls in January 2025, when demand for our services was at its highest. We expect January 2026 to be just as busy. If you can, please help us answer another phone call from someone who desperately needs our support.
