The difference we can make

Tina Wormley, from Leeds in Yorkshire, struggled to find the right care for her mother Mary, who was in the late stages of Alzheimer’s disease. Just three weeks before Mary died, Tina became aware of the Admiral Nurse Dementia Helpline, and spoke to one of our expert dementia nurses.

It was the most helpful conversation I’d had in the 5 years we’d been struggling. It gave me a shot of strength that saw me through to the end of Mum’s life.

Tina is now campaigning for more Admiral Nurses in the community, as she believes every family living with dementia deserves to have the one-to-one support of a specialist dementia nurse.
