Time for a Cuppa 2017 family recipe competition

KHFamily time is about chatting, laughing, crying, and reminiscing – and through the good and bad these precious moments often take place over a cuppa and a piece of cake. Do you have a family tea-time recipe that brings back memories of these times?

To launch Time for a Cuppa 2017 we’re holding a family recipe competition. We want you to send us your favourite family tea-time recipe and family photo along with a couple of lines telling us why you support Time for a Cuppa.

The winner will have their family photo, tea-time recipe and supporting message featured in the Time for a Cuppa 2017 campaign pack, and on the Dementia UK website. The winning person will also receive a Starbucks hamper, which has been kindly donated by one of our corporate partners, Starbucks. Runners up will be featured on the website throughout the Time for a Cuppa campaign.

Dementia UK Volunteer Ambassador Karen (in the photo with her Mum and Dad) has kindly shared her favourite tea-time recipe. Find out what it is and why it brings back such fond memories!

Why Time for a Cuppa?

Dementia UK is passionate about helping families who are living with dementia to face difficult times, and we do this through our Admiral Nurses, who are registered nurses and dementia experts. Our annual Time for a Cuppa campaign raises vital money to help us to fund more Admiral Nurses, to help families in local communities and to run our helpline, which is free to everyone across the UK.

Time for a Cuppa 2016 was our biggest ever raising over £140,000! Without the support of our amazing supporters and their hard work – organising, baking, and tea-making – this wouldn’t have been possible. We had a record number of people register to hold a tea party and this was thanks to the dedication of our celebrity ambassador Judy Parfitt, who helped to spread the word on TV, radio, and in magazines and newspapers about her experience of dementia with her husband.
