The 50km Challenge
Starting at the TrekFest Village, the 50km team set off in pursuit of Kinder Scout, passing Edale and joining the Pennine Way leading up to the summit. Once you have reached the summit and taken a photo in your fabulous Dementia UK t-shirt, you will start your decent on the Pennine Bridleway. You will pass through the fields into the villages of Bradwell, Brough, Shatton, and Aston, with the final stretch going through Hope and onto the finish line back at the TrekFest village.
The 25km Challenge
Setting off from the TrekFest Village in the opposite direction to the 50km team, you will head through the villages of Hope, Aston and Thornhill before heading north toward the historic Ladybower Reservoir. You will then follow the edge of the reservoir alongside beautiful woodland and onto Haglee Ford before climbing up & over Hollins Cross and onto the finish line through Castleton.
No matter which distance you choose, you will receive full support from the TrekFest team – hospitality and plenty of rest stops throughout your trek, as well as a celebratory finishers’ meal and massage. So all you need to do is focus on reaching that finish line and raising funds to help families facing dementia.
When you join the Dementia UK team you’ll receive all the support you need to make sure you are prepared for the day including:
