“A high like nothing else”

Best friends Anna and Abbie decided to take on the London Marathon in 2017 to raise money for Dementia UK after experiencing first-hand how tough it can be for families facing dementia. They both had grandparents who experienced dementia, and found it heart-breaking to witness the confusion and disorientation of their loved ones.

After six months of training and preparation, and with the help and support of their friends and family, the big day eventually came. The two friends made it round the course and crossed the finish line hand in hand.

It’s hard to put into words just how overwhelming that day was. From mile one to mile 26, it was a high like nothing else.

Help out at our events

We’re always in need of a helping hand – or a cheering voice – to come and support our fundraisers at the many events they take part in. If you have some spare time, we’d love you to come along!
