Donate in celebration

Are you planning a big celebration, such as a wedding, birthday or anniversary? Rather than asking for presents, why not invite family and friends to donate to Dementia UK?

For my dad’s surprise 80th birthday party, we requested donations instead of gifts and were overwhelmed by the response. We made just over £1000. Dad was delighted that he had made a significant contribution to a cause that meant so much to him.

Claire, Berkshire.

How to ask for donations

Donate in celebrationSimply create a JustGiving page and send the link to your guests. They can make donations securely online and add a personal message via your page.

Other guests may want to donate by cheque. Please ask them to make their cheques payable to ‘Dementia UK’. Please send them to us at Dementia UK, 7th floor, One Aldgate, London, EC3N 1RE. We advise against sending cash in the post.

We can also send you Gift Aid donation envelopes.

Please contact us on 0300 365 5500 or email

Wedding favours

Rather than spending money on wedding favours, why not make a donation to Dementia UK instead? Choose a design from our range of cards to let your guests know what you have done. We can print them with your names on to make them more personal. We also have Dementia UK logo pin badges available if you require these. Suggested donation per favour is £1, we also suggest a donation of £2 per pin badge.

Thank you so much for our cards and pins. The day was beautiful and it was even better seeing guests wearing their pins in the evening.

Caroline, Bristol.

The text on the card reads: ‘In place of favours, (names) have decided to help Dementia UK support families living with dementia.

Call us on 0300 365 5500 or email to order in good time for your special day.

Please allow a minimum of two weeks delivery when making your order.
