Challenge Events Fundraising Executive

Reporting to:           Community and Events Fundraising Manager

Location:                  Holloway Road, London

Hours of Work:       37.5 hours per week

Contract:                  Full time, permanent

Salary:                       c. £28,000

Dementia UK provides specialist dementia support for families through our Admiral Nurse service. When things get challenging or difficult for people with dementia and their families, Admiral Nurses work alongside them, giving the one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions people need. The unique dementia expertise and experience an Admiral Nurse brings is a lifeline – it helps everyone in the family to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear.

The Challenge Events Executive will be joining a fast paced dynamic team, responsible for over £1.7million income which will help support families affected by dementia. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about joining an exciting team, supporting eventers, as well as keen to get stuck in and develop the growing events portfolio.

Business Development Officer x2 (SE England or East Anglia)

Accountable to:        Business Development Manager

Salary:                        £35,000 – £45,000

Location:                   SE England or East Anglia. Home-based with extensive travel, some trips to HQ in London

Hours of work:          37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract:        Full-time, permanent

Do you have a head for business combined with a heart for charity work? Are you looking for a new challenge and interested in helping one of the UK’s leading dementia charities drive forward new business development?

Dementia UK is looking to appoint two Business Development Officers (BDO) to join its assiduous Business Development Team. As a new member of the team, you will help build and sustain new business; working closely with the Business Development Manager to harness key opportunities and develop important partnerships in order to increase the number of Admiral Nurses while maintaining quality.

Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who provide vital support to families affected by dementia. The nurses are supported by Dementia UK, which works with partners in various health and social care settings to provide gold standard clinical and emotional support, practical advice, and therapeutic interventions to help families along the dementia journey.

As part of the Business Development Team, the new BDOs will help propel strategic growth, helping Dementia UK meet the goals with its Strategic Plan 2017 – 2020. Most importantly, the role will balance the need for driving new business with the values of the charity, ensuring that all times the message given keeps families living with dementia at the heart of our work.

These positions will be home-based, with extensive travel.  There are two BDO roles, one will focus on the Southeast of England and the other will cover East Anglia.  Both will include trips to Dementia UK headquarters in London.

We are looking for an energetic, excellent communicator with business experience and a proven track record in project and service development.
