Dementia at Work
Supporting your employees and customers
Every three minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with dementia.
The impact on relatives and friends can be huge and without support, dementia can pull a family apart.
670,000 people are now caring for a loved one with dementia. Many of these, especially those who are looking after a person with young onset dementia, are also looking after a child, whilst coping with the stresses of work and everyday life. Unsurprisingly, 40% of family carers experience significant depression or anxiety. All of this can have a considerable impact on the person at work.
We want to ensure that employers have access to specialist support for those staff and customers who are living with, and affected by, the everyday realities of dementia.
Dementia UK has developed resources and support services delivered by our specialist dementia nurses – Admiral Nurses – to help your employees and customers live more positively with dementia and build a wider understanding of the condition.
