Time for a Cuppa takes place between 1st – 8th March every year. Many of our supporters still make Time for a Cuppa with family, friends, neighbours and colleagues at other times in the year to help provide more Admiral Nurses for people facing dementia so please do get in touch if you want to take part.
This year has seen a record amount of supporters sign up to take part in Time for a Cuppa. Thank you to everyone who has been involved. One of our supporters Maureen gives us an insight into her special event and how she raised a fantastic £760 for Dementia UK to provide more Admiral Nurses to support families with dementia. You can also see some of our amazing photos from some of our other incredible fundraisers across the country on our Facebook page If you would like to get involved there is still time. You can order your free Time for a Cuppa tea party pack now. It’s crammed full of goodies to help your event run smoothly, including games, fundraising ideas, and promotional materials. Featured in the pack is also the winner of our summer Time for a Cuppa family recipe competition – Nikki Legg. Try Nikki’s delicious Ginger Fairing family recipe. Nikki’s nanna had vascular dementia and sadly passed away in May 2015, but her memory lives on through her handwritten recipe book.
This video looks at how an Admiral Nurse can support families living with dementia. The physical, psychological, practical and economic impact of caring for a family member with dementia is well documented, but there still isn’t enough support for carers across the UK. Admiral Nurses like Matthew can be a rock for a family.
