Become a Cheer Point Champion

About the role:

Every year, hundreds of runners and cyclists take part in challenge events in aid of Dementia UK. We love to give them a huge cheer along the route as they challenge themselves to support dementia specialist Admiral Nurses. We need volunteers to do this!

Availability/Hours:

Weekend work – between 2.5 – 5 hours

Locations:

London, Brighton, Newcastle, Birmingham, Cardiff

Full role description:

About the team:

Dementia UK have a dedicated events team that manage our third-party events. We recruit and support those who have chosen to take on a physical challenge to support Dementia UK.

Volunteer Tasks:

High-fiving, waving flags, banging tambourines – anything to help motivate our team!

meeting participants’ family members and friends who join us to cheer. This may include talking to them about their experiences of dementia and why their loved one is taking on their challenge for Dementia UK.

Skills and Experience:

No experience necessary, we ask that you are enthusiastic and enjoy meeting and talking to new people.

Access to a car / good transport links

Required to stand for long periods of time

It a great opportunity to meet new people, share understanding of roles in and out of Dementia UK and  raise awareness of our charity and work at Dementia UK and Admiral Nursing. – Joe
