Once you are all signed up, you’ll receive a welcome email from us with some helpful advice on how to organise the day, as well as some fundraising top tips to help you achieve your goals.
Don’t forget to post updates on your Facebook fundraiser, so all your friends and family know how you are getting on. Once you’ve completed your challenge, we will send you a virtual medal and certificate as a thank you for all your hard work.
With your help, no one will have to face dementia alone.
How your fundraising will make a difference
£120 could pay for an Admiral Nurse to offer four hours of virtual clinics to families no matter where they are based
£225 could fund a new Admiral Nurse to run a specialist clinic for families affected by young onset dementia for a full day
£390 could keep our Helpline running at full capacity for an hour, supporting families in urgent need of expert dementia support

The next step is to join the Badminton-a-thon Facebook Group. Once you’re in, you can register for your free t-shirt, set up your fundraiser, meet your fellow supporters and find out anything else you’d like to know about the challenge.

Is there a fundraising target?
There is no fundraising target for this challenge, however we do ask you raise as much as you can for families affected by dementia.
How do I raise money?
Creating a Facebook fundraiser is the quickest and easiest way to raise money. Once you’re logged into Facebook, you can set one up in a few seconds by following this link.
send in a cheque made payable to Dementia UK. Enclose a note including your full name, the email address that you used to register for your t-shirt, and an explanation that you raised the money for the 30 Day Pilates Challenge. Post it to us at Dementia UK, 7th Floor, One Aldgate, London, EC3N 1RE

Where do donations to my Facebook fundraiser or JustGiving page go?
All donations made to your fundraiser will be sent directly to Dementia UK by Facebook and JustGiving. These vital donations will help to support families facing dementia.
What if I set up two Facebook fundraisers by mistake?
If you have made two Facebook fundraisers, don’t worry, you can check and edit them here. You can then close the one you no longer need, which will focus your fundraising onto one page.
It’s okay if the page you want to close has donations on – all your donations on both pages will still come to Dementia UK.
What happens if donations don’t appear on my Facebook fundraiser straight away?
Normally, if donations don’t appear on your fundraising page immediately, they will within 48 hours. However, if your donation hasn’t appeared after this time there are a few different possibilities.
Donations from other countries can take a lot longer to come through to Facebook and then to Dementia UK. This could be as long as several weeks
The donation didn’t go through. Please ask your donor to check if the money has left their account
PayPal takes up to three days to register to your Facebook fundraiser
Your sponsor didn’t donate to your fundraising page, but instead clicked the ‘donate now’ button which links directly to Dementia UK. Ask your sponsor to check the receipt they were emailed directly from Facebook – this will say whether they donated to your Facebook fundraiser, or straight to Dementia UK
Visit our Facebook Group and fill in our t-shirt registration form with your details. It will take up to three weeks for your t-shirt to arrive so please bear with us.
We will not accept t-shirt orders after Monday 13th June.
I still haven’t received my t-shirt, where is it?
Sorry you haven’t received your t-shirt yet. If you have waited three weeks since completing the registration form, please send us an email to email@example.com and we will investigate further.
Can I get have more than one t-shirt for the challenge?
We send out one t-shirt per participant, however if you would like to buy some additional Dementia UK branded clothing then please visit ourshop.
You can complete your challenge wherever you like, the local court, your garden or with your local Badminton Club. If you plan on booking a court we’d recommend getting in touch with your local club as soon as possible.
The date we are asking everyone to take on this challenge is the 18th June. The length you decide to play for is entirely up to you, 4 hours, 6 hours or maybe even 12!
How do I keep track of my Badminton-a-thon Challenge?
This is your challenge, so you can decide how you would like to keep track of your Badminton-a-thon. Just be sure to keep your sponsors posted on how you decide to take on the challenge.
Can I take part on a different day?
Of course! 18th June is when the majority of people are likely to take part, but you can do this challenge whenever it is convenient for you. If you are unable to commit to the 18th for example, then please do choose another date. The more challenge participants we have, the more we can support families facing dementia.
