Dementia devastates families. Leave a gift in your Will so they never have to cope alone.
Dementia can be devastating. It can rob a person of their memories, their personality, and ultimately their life. There is no way to prevent it. It can’t be effectively treated. There is currently no cure.
The impact on families, who often become carers, is huge too. Caring can be physically and mentally exhausting, pushing people to the brink – and in no position to provide the care a person with dementia needs.
Our specialist nurses give unique support to families facing dementia
We’re the only UK charity dedicated to supporting people with dementia and their families with specialist dementia nurses. Admiral Nurses work alongside families, giving them the one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions they need. The unique dementia expertise and experience an Admiral Nurse brings is a lifeline – it helps everyone in the family to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear.
Dementia is the major health issue of our generation
The next 30 years will see a huge increase in the number of people with dementia. By 2050 two million people will have the disease – more than twice as many as have it now.
That means hundreds of thousands more families struggling to cope and who might desperately need our help. With no cure in sight we must always be there to care for every family facing dementia that needs support. But we will need hundreds more nurses to meet this huge increase in demand. And we will need significantly more funds to make this happen.
We rely on voluntary donations, including gifts in wills. In the face of this crisis we must all come together to fund more nurses so no family is ever left to cope with dementia alone.
A gift in your will costs you nothing now but leaves a lasting legacy
A gift in your will is an amazing way to leave your mark on a cause you feel passionately about. Your friends and family come first, but once you’ve looked after those closest to you, please consider leaving a gift to Dementia UK. Even a small amount, like a 1% share of your estate, can make a big difference to families facing dementia.
