Carers in Hertfordshire are setting up a new community dementia service in Hertfordshire. The service has been commissioned by Hertfordshire County Council and is for people with dementia or memory loss and their carers.

Carers in Hertfordshire are working with Dementia UK to recruit and host four Admiral Nurses, including one clinical lead role. The purpose of the Admiral Nurse roles is to provide specialist dementia nursing expertise and support to those affected by dementia, with a specific focus on family carers/ supporters who experience difficulties within Hertfordshire.

Applicants should be Registered Nurses (RMN/RGN/RNLD) with formal knowledge of and also experience of dementia/older people with mental health needs and for the Clinical Lead role, a clinical post graduate qualification in dementia/older people plus experience of recent involvement in practice/ service development are essential.
