In partnership with Dementia UK, we are looking to add to our team of successful and highly-valued Admiral Nurses and are now looking to appoint an Admiral Nurse in the West Midlands.

Admiral Nurses work with and support families and carers of people with dementia. They use a range of interventions to help people live positively with the condition and develop skills to improve communication and maintain relationships. Working collaboratively with other professionals, Admiral Nurses seek to improve the quality of life for people with dementia and their carers.

We are looking for people who have the compassion, focus and desire to become real ambassadors for dementia care. Based at home, you will provide a peripatetic service, visiting people in their homes and community settings.The successful candidate will support the Lead Admiral Nurse in providing this service. You will be a RMN or RGN (with an accredited dementia qualification) and have had a minimum 2 years post qualification experience in dementia care and preferably experience of working with carers of people with dementia and their families.

Your professional development will be supported by Dementia UK’s comprehensive practice development framework in addition to training provided by us.

Clinical Supervisor to facilitate Admiral Nurse Peer Group clinical supervision

Salary: Hourly rate of £75 plus remuneration for travel time and expenses

We are inviting expressions of interest from suitably experienced and qualified clinical supervisors to facilitate peer group, clinical supervision for Admiral Nurses, specialists in dementia care.

Peer group clinical supervision group is held monthly for two hours, with a maximum of 10 Admiral Nurses in each group.

This is an exciting opportunity to become an Admiral Nurse working in the community of Purbeck in Dorset, providing enhanced emotional support and advice to patients with dementia, their families and carers, using Advanced Nursing skills.

The post includes undertaking specialist holistic assessments of patients and carers, involving planning, implementing and evaluating the care delivery.

You will be proactive in clinical decision making, underpinned by an advanced level of theoretical and practical knowledge and be able to demonstrate improved patient care outcomes

You will work closely with primary care and community teams to facilitate and promote high quality dementia care. The post is supported by Dementia UK, who will provide the successful applicant with training and support to undertake the role, building on existing skills and knowledge.
