About the role:

Dementia UK provides specialist support for families through our Admiral Nurse service. They help people living with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they will have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days.

We’re seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our team and take charge of our income streams. Your responsibilities will include efficiently processing all income streams, such as checking and banking cheques, and raising sales invoices according to agreements. You’ll support the Fundraising and Business Development teams by raising invoices upon request and collaborating with departments to ensure that Finance is updated on any changes in agreements with external organizations. You’ll also proactively contribute to our upcoming Finance system improvement project, which includes implementing a purchase ordering system, invoicing, payment runs, and other transactional improvements.

To be successful in this position, you must possess excellent accounting and financial management skills and be actively studying for AAT, CIMA, or ACCA while being part-qualified by experience. Your fine attention to detail and diligence in ensuring that finance processes and controls are accurately followed are essential. Additionally, you’ll need excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships, and deal with people with tact, sensitivity, and discretion.
