Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who work with and support families and carers of people with dementia. Working collaboratively with other professionals, Admiral Nurses seek to improve the quality of life for people with dementia and their carers. They use a range of interventions to help people live positively with the condition and develop skills to improve communication and maintain relationships.

In this specialist role you will act as an expert resource, providing advice on nursing care in relation to clinical interventions, policies, service development and delivery for individuals with dementia and their family carers. You will be supported by Dementia UK through protected Practice Development and Clinical Supervision as well as continuing professional development, including the opportunity to undertake a specialist Admiral Nursing Master’s level module.

You will need to be a registered nurse with significant experience of working with people and families living with dementia and a commitment to practising in a person and way. The post holder will be an exceptional individual who can influence, lead and motivate staff at all levels.
