Worcestershire Health & Social Care NHS Trust, in partnership with Dementia UK, are looking to recruit a Lead Admiral Nurse with a passion for working with families living with dementia. In return for your passion and commitment to this client group we will offer a 3 day induction programme with Dementia UK, ongoing monthly clinical supervision and practice development, the opportunity to be supported to undertake a specialist Masters level module as well as a competitive salary, pension and travel reimbursement scheme. This is an exciting opportunity for nurses looking for a new challenge and who wish to build their skills in this innovative and leading nursing model.
Admiral Nurses offer individualised support for families affected by dementia. This entails a comprehensive assessment of need and provision of a range of therapeutic approaches designed to promote both physical and psychological wellbeing. Admiral Nurses aim to improve knowledge and understanding of the experience of dementia and enhance skills in coping with changing symptoms. Admiral Nurses offer support to accept changes in roles and relationships for the carer and the person living with dementia and in coming to terms with the losses involved.
You will be employed by Worcestershire Health & Social Care NHS Trust and be an integral part of their delivery model supporting the person with dementia and their families and carers. Responsible for managing a team of Admiral Nurses, the role will requires you to develop effective partnerships with particular focus on supporting colleagues in primary care & the third sector.
You will need to be a registered nurse with significant experience of working with people and families living with dementia and a commitment to practising in a person and relationship-centred way.
The 37.5 hours are to be worked over Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm.
