Brief description of the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced nurse to join a busy and vibrant Community Mental Health Team for Later Life based in North Manchester.
The successful candidates will be required to fulfil the role of an Admiral Nurse as part of a multi-disciplinary CMHT. The team is based in the north of Manchester.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of support to family and carers of people with dementia within the Later Life Community Mental Health Team. The post holder will work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
Admiral Nurses are specialised mental health nurses working in the field of dementia. Admiral Nurses work primarily with carers and supporters of people with dementia .The main focus of the Admiral Nurse’s role is to identify and implement best practice in supporting family carers. The Admiral Nurses focus on improving the dementia experience for care givers and the person living with dementia.
The post-holder will join the national network of Admiral Nurses and will benefit from the practice development framework for Admiral Nursing provided by Dementia UK. This comprises education, training and development, clinical supervision, and support with research, evaluation and audit.
