We are looking for an experienced nurse who will improve dementia care for the people of Westminster.
Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster Memory Service is a community based multidisciplinary team delivering a memory assessment and treatment service. Based in central London it brings diversity of population and the challenges of supporting older people in inner city environments.
The Admiral Nurse Service works collaboratively with other health professionals, voluntary sector partners and Dementia UK, to deliver person-centred support to families and carers of people with dementia across Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster. The Admiral Nurse team will deliver evidence-based dementia care and a range of therapeutic interventions to help people live positively, develop skills, improve communication and maintain relationships.
This is an opportunity to build your skills and knowledge within a diverse community alongside two experienced Admiral Nurses and to expand your clinical practice in a rewarding, supportive and forward-thinking team.
Dementia UK will support you to maintain and strengthen your clinical expertise as a specialist nurse through regular clinical supervision and practice and professional development. You’ll become part of a network of Admiral Nurses and will have the opportunity to access relevant post-graduate courses and develop professionally, informed by the Admiral Nurse Competency Framework.
The successful applicants will be NMC registered with post-registration clinical experience of working with people with dementia and their carers/families in different settings, along with formal knowledge of dementia, acquired through clinical post-graduate training/education.
For an informal conversation about the role, please contact the Memory Service Manager, Luke O’Connor on 0787 212 4329.
