Open Course Programme of Learning
At Dementia UK Training we are committed to providing high quality, affordable training for those who work with older people and people with dementia. Investing in staff training is vital, but we also recognise that organisations have limited resources. We aim to improve standards of care for people with dementia and promote good practice by developing the skills and knowledge of care workers.
Dementia UK Open Course Programme of Learning aims to meet the diverse learning needs of the dementia care workforce by offering both Dementia UK developed courses delivered by Dementia UK associate trainers as well training delivered by other providers of training and education. Our guest trainers and their programmes include The Bradford Dementia Group's ‘Dementia Care Mapping' course, Dr Aimee Spector's ‘Cognitive Stimulation Therapy' and Dr Gemma Jones' Communication & Care Giving in Dementia - A Positive Vision'. These are just a few examples of the courses we host in partnership in order to provide a wide a range of development opportunities as possible.
Places are limited and are allocated on a first come first served basis. It is always a good idea to telephone and check availability before sending in your booking form. Courses run from 09:30 am -16:30 pm with registration from 09:00 am.

Dementia UK is sometimes asked for advice about which training courses in dementia are available in other parts of the country. Apart from the courses run by
Dementia UK Training, based both in London and the West Midlands, we have links to Dementia Care Mapping courses. For further details contact: training@dementiauk.org
