During her lifetime, Margaret Butterworth worked energetically and creatively to improve care for people with dementia, their friends and families.
Margaret engaged with the complexity of changing the modern care world with a quiet but persistent voice. She honoured and shared good practice and believed that simple acts of the heart make all the difference.

The Award

Nominations are now being accepted for the Margaret Butterworth Award for excellence in Dementia Care 2010. If you know someone who is a paid care worker, activity co-ordinator or health care assistant, who works with people with dementia in a health or social care setting or in a person's home in the greater London area and who you feel deserves special recognition for their work, you can nominate them. There will be three winners who will each recieve £250 and a certificate at an award ceremony in central London. For further details download the entry form. The closing date for applications is 31st August 2010.

This annual award aims to celebrate excellence in dementia care in the spirit of, and in the memory of ,Margaret Butterworth's life.
