Dementia Care Mapping
Course Aim: Learning to use DCM is aimed at those interested in learning the DCM method for use in their own practice, or more broadly within an organisation driving forward person-centred care practice. This is the foundation for all further DCM training. The Learning to Use DCM (Basic User Status) course is an intensive course with a written assessment. To promote the principles of best practice in activity work with older people, particularly those who have dementia.

Dementia Care Mapping Refresher Day
Course Aim: To update qualified Dementia Care Mappers on the DCM tool and revisit the philosophy and process of Dementia Care Mapping. This one day course will also refresh and refine skills around the four DCM coding frames: behaviour category coding, mood and engagement coding, Personal Detractors, Personal Enhancers. It will provide an update of recent developments with DCM and look at ways of embedding DCM in practice.
