Service Development, Networks, Local Forums and Consultancy

Principle

Service development is one of the core activities of Dementia UK West Midlands.
The aim of Dementia UK West Midlands is to support health and social care agencies to plan, deliver and improve the quality of services for older people with mental illness and their carers.

Networking

We have facilitated meetings of the Region's Memory Clinic Network, now looking to its 11th session. The model is sound and we plan to explore prospects for similar Regional networks involving staff working: in general hospitals, day care, residential care, community teams and mental health units. In addition our ambition is to facilitate multi-agency forums within each of the 14 localities of the Region.
