If you care for someone with dementia or are living with the diagnosis yourself, you can book an appointment with a specialist dementia nurse in our virtual clinics. Appointments are free and confidential, and are available between Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm. They are 45 minutes long and take place by phone or video call, to suit you.
As experts in dementia, our nurses offer life-changing advice and support with all aspects of dementia, including:
- understanding the diagnosis
- practical tips for caring for a loved one with dementia
- understanding symptoms and changes in behaviour
- advice on stays in hospital and transition into a nursing or residential home
- emotional support for you
We often experience high levels of demand, with appointments booked two to three weeks in advance.
Professionals/booking on behalf of others
If you are a professional, family member or friend of a carer, please do not book an appointment without obtaining their permission first. You will need to enter the carer’s contact details on the booking form. Please also ensure that you ask them whether they would prefer an appointment by phone or video call, and tell them the appointment time and date to avoid unexpected or unwanted calls from a specialist dementia nurse.
Closer to Home dementia clinics
Throughout 2024, we are holding ‘Closer to Home’ face-to-face dementia clinics in selected branches of our partner Leeds Building Society across the UK. Appointments are free, confidential and last 45 minutes.
