Royal Bank of Scotland

A team based in the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), London office recently chose Dementia UK as their "charity of the month" for September. They organised many different activities, including book & cake sales, a raffle, mini golf session, and for the more energetic, a spinning class and a mixed netball match.

The reason they chose Dementia UK is because several members of the team have relatives with dementia and have found the Admiral Nurse Service to be invaluable. Yvonne Long of the team based in Royal Bank of Scotland said ‘This was our opportunity to give something back'.

The team raised £2,442.34. A fantastic effort!

UBC Media 

Simon Cole, Director of UBC Media, tells us why his company has chosen to support Dementia UK as their Charity of the Year 2009.

"Dementia is a condition which blights three or four healthy people for every one person who actually has it. The strain of caring for a relative or loved one with dementia can eat away at the very fabric of families and relationships. That's where Dementia UK comes in. Their Admiral Nurses provide practical and emotional support for both the patient and their carers from the point of diagnosis to the period of bereavement."

To emphasis his commitment to raising awareness of the charity and much needed funds, Simon took part in the Bupa Great North Run on 20th September and has raised over £4,000 so far.

Blick Rothenberg Chartered Accountants

Blick Rothenberg Chartered Accountants chose Dementia UK as their Charity of the Year for 2008. A number of events were held throughout the year and an impressive £19,000 was raised for the charity.

Pictured left is a team of staff members who took part in the London to Paris Cycle Ride in September 2008. Their efforts raised over £7,000, which is a fantastic achievement!
